This novel is about a women, Barbara a mother of four daughter who died because of cancer. But how can she say a final farewell when each of her daughter have so much growing up to do?

Barbara's answer is to write each daughter a letter, finally expressing the hopes, fears, dreams and secrets she couldn't always voice. Fear of facing death and leave her beautiful daughter and her husband,Mark somehow make Barbara's stronger to face it. She must be, for her family.

Jennifer,who are brittle, unhappily married to Stephen are confusing whether she don't want to have a baby with her husband or she don't want to have a baby at all.

Lisa,the closest one to her being afraid of getting involve in commitment although in her thirties. Poor Andy is Lisa boyfriend.

Amanda,the traveler always a little apart from her sister. Barbara's afraid that she's running away from problems. From facing the truth. From live her life.

Hannah, her baby from her second marriage with mark had to faces adult life without a mother at her side.

The letters and the journal that she leaved for them will somehow touch the girls in different-sometimes shocking- ways, unlocking emotions and passions to set them on their own journey of discovery through life.
